
In 2021, the NC STRIDE Teacher Recruitment Action Plan offered a set of detailed recommendations and strategies to help strengthen teacher recruitment in our state. Throughout 2022, the NC STRIDE planning team continued to meet and track progress toward achieving the goals of the Action Plan.
Through those conversations, it became clear that there many organizations, entities, and initiatives are converging around the critical issue of teacher recruitment and the imperative that we transform the way we recruit and support high-quality teaching candidates across North Carolina.
This year’s North Carolina Education Innovation Lab convened a diverse set of stakeholders to examine our state’s teacher recruitment challenges facing and explore innovative strategies for redesigning North Carolina’s teacher recruitment, licensure, and support systems.
